| The Artist, Musician or Composer is the product for sale and they should spend the majority of their time preparing, developing and promoting their product, which of course is for sale and the focus of revenue generation. That activity in itself is not only an important ingredient of the success of the Artist; it also should take up the majority of thought and effort. It is up to the Artist Manager to focus on the business of the Artist by developing the following revenue streams: • Distribution of product – this is done through a distribution contract with a Major or Independent label. • Publishing of product – done through the publishing arm of a Major or Independent label. • Live Performance – preparing the Artist to promote the product through a Booking Agent. • Merchandizing – developing product to be sold, using the artist to promote. • Synchronicity – through movie and TV production or commercials. What’s truly amazing is the world is our Oyster as far as business is concerned. |
